Experience the Dinosaur Trails
Our goal is to entice people to experience the rich history and landscapes unique to this region. Millions of years ago, what is now the Pacific Northwest, was covered by a vast inland sea and tropical vegetation. Dinosaurs roamed freely across this vast area (See our coverage in the 2011 edition of Experience the Mountain Parks at http://dig.cmipublishing.ca/i/99755).
Due to wind and water erosion, their bones have been discovered across Western Canada and the Northern States. This includes the Canadian Badlands, and from Eastend, Saskatchewan, to Hudson’s Hope, BC, from the Crowsnest Pass to Fort McMurray, and beyond. Dinosaur Provincial Park, Royal Tyrrell Museum, Calgary Zoo, and Royal Alberta Museum are just four of the many attractions with interactive displays and artifacts bringing dinosaurs back to life for kids of all ages, from 2 to 102. Many diverse businesses support this growing segment of tourism. We encourage you to trumpet your goods & services within our unique travelling companion. Make sure that locals and international visitors, alike can easily find you as they explore the numerous towns along the dinosaur trails.
